User Review on Shopee MY

Finally blogged after years of abandoning this blog! Because I'm just too lazy to write not used to write in a long essay form. And yeah.. There must be "something" that caused me to have that high level of "motivation" enough for me to start writing about this post. The main purpose of writing this post is to introduce the latest marketplace mobile app to my friends and other random viewers that come across to this blog. I can assure you that I'm definitely NOT paid for writing this post. Hence, the reviews below is entirely based on my own user experience as both buyer and seller.

Here's the review regarding the newly launched marketplace mobile app named as "Shopee MY" that differentiates it from other marketplace mobile apps.

From the buyer side:

• Pros: 

1. Secured Transaction: Payment are made to Shopee bank account instead of paying directly to the seller personal bank account. Shopee will only release the payment to the seller ONLY after the buyer has pressed on the "Confirm Received" button or when the Shopee Guarantee expires. However, there is still an option to extend 3 days of the guarantee protection in some special circumstances (eg. seller ships out the item late thus delaying the receipt of the item). 
2. Refund/Return Policy: Buyer is allowed to ask for refund if they do not receive the item within the promised time frame.
   
   AND... THE MOST IMPORTANT BENEFIT IS.........
3. Ongoing Sales: Shopee has just been newly launched on 3rd June 2015. Therefore, there is a lot of huge sales in the app that is currently ongoing as below. Lots of discount has been given which hike up to 70% off the original price. On top of that, vouchers have been given to newly registered user for their first time purchase (RM 10 off over RM 15 first order) which... applicable to ALL marketplace items including Sales items!
   
   There is a lot of voucher code theme on Shopee MY. Among all these themes, I would definitely vote the OOTD theme as the best offer ever!

The code "SPOOTDWEEK" is applicable to ALL items under fashion apparel categories.

Look! This app is unbelievably amazing right?!! 

NOTE: Do not doubt about the quality of the product. All products that I received are in brand new, high quality and prefect condition. This is because Shopee is the one who subsidize for the huge amount of discount. Therefore, sellers are still able to get the Original Price(eg. RM 39, RM 35, RM 51) amount from Shopee.

The latest voucher code theme which has just started from 11 August 2015 onwards are as follows.

Travel With Shopee

The code "SPTRAVEL" is applicable for ALL bags, shoes, sports & outdoors items in the entire marketplace with a minimum spend of RM 60.

• Con: Limited selection of products available due mainly to the invention of this mobile app is still considered as super new. It takes time to attract more sellers to realize the new app and sell their products on this new marketplace before able to create a wider selection of product range.

From the seller side:

• Pros: 

1. Super Encouraging marketplace environment for seller since Shopee subsidize the discount with a bonus of free voucher giveaway that directly boost the sales of the seller!
2. Free of charge listing of products and no transaction fees.
3. User Friendly: Instructions are clearly written down & their super efficient customer service representative that replies email promptly.

• Cons:

1. Average picture editing tools that is not really user friendly.
2. The release of payment might be delayed if the customer didn't press "Confirm Received" and it takes around 3 days for processing of fund transfer to the seller after buyer has received their items.
3. There might be losses of business opportunity if the item is only available in 1 unit. This happens when the buyer placed an order on the item but didnt make the payment at the end. The item will went out of stock for a maximum of 3 days before it's able to be put on sale again since buyer is allowed to reserve and make the payment within 3 days.
   
   Example of this case are shown in the picture below. The order was placed on 12 August and the item will only be automatically released back after 15 August.

Overall, it has been a great experience using this mobile app to trade online. I would personally rate this app as 4 out of 5 stars. However, there is still huge space of improvement needed as it's still a freshly invented mobile app that contains removable flaws. Looking forward for a better improved version of this app!
